shogazi latex mattresses

100% natural Latex - Hevea Brasiliensis
- strictly pollutant controlled -

Nowadays, numerous mattresses are offered bearing the label “natural latex”, as there are no binding norms as to what this has to comprise. Therefore, many of those who offer “natural latex mattresses” conceal the fact that their products contain between 15 and 90 % of synthetically produced latex milk.

Natural latex is rare and is regarded as a top product. It is extracted from the rubber tree’s juice. Shogazi has specialized in exclusively offering mattresses with a polymeric natural latex percentage of 100 %. We completely refuse styrol-butadien rubber (SBR), a synthetical caoutchouc based on crude oil derivates.

We completely focus on quality, comfort and nature and therefore: on natural latex which, being a re-growing natural raw material, shows an energy balance 10 times higher than SBR.

Pure natural latex is an unbeatable mattress material. Until today, latex is extracted from the milk of the rubber tree. In order to obtain the necessary amount for a single mattress, a lot of meticulous manual work is required. All shogazi mattresses are cast as a whole in all standard sizes, up to a width of 180 cm – i.e. up to a mattress size of 180 cm, there are no glue lines.

Pure wool

Pure wool is breathable, temperature-regulating, self-cleaning, hygienic and neutralizes many pollutants. We mainly use pure wool for the quilting of our natural latex mattresses, but upon request also for our cold foam mattresses.

The term pure wool stands for wool deriving from a living animal – as opposed to a recycling product like shoddy wool, which has been produced from old textiles.

Pure wool badly absorbs dirt, is highly colour-fast and, to a certain extent, flame-resistant. In contrast to synthetic fibres, pure wool hardly adopts the smell of sweat.

Moreover, pure wool offers ideal protection against both cold and heat, as the wool fibres enclose air. Due to this structure, wool is able to absorb moisture of up to 30 % of its own weight and dispense it into the air again during the day. In the centre of its fibres, wool is able to absorb water vapour, whereas its surface is water-repellant. Thus, it is able to soak up water without feeling damp, and it conducts moisture away much faster than for example the frequently used cotton. As pure wool largely consists of air (85 %), it warms very well. The result is a comforting, dry sleeping climate.

Cotton from controlled organic farming (kbA)

The soft and cuddly cotton ensures a good moisture regulation during sleep. It doesn’t charge statically and is moth-proof. The cotton we use comes from controlled organic farming and bears the “Natural Comfort” seal.

Lenpur Green Soft

  • as soft as silk
  • as shiny as mercerized
  • thermo-regulating
  • 99,8 % purely natural and ecological
  • extremely accomodating for the skin

Lenpur is a totally natural product – a fibre whose fabrication is completely ecological in all its stages and whose production does not cause any loss to nature whatsoever. The lenpur fibre has a natural pureness of 99.8 %, which is clearly higher than that of hand-picked cotton. The raw materials consist of branches and twigs of especially selected trees, whose cutting allows the trees to receive more light for their growth. The extraction of cellulose is a micro-organic process with no chemical substances being used. The fibres and the yarn made thereof have many advantages compared to ordinary products, one of them being their environmental compatibility. The raw material may be obtained from local farming without using fossil energy sources, thereby saving the latter. Moreover, it is recyclable and biodegradable to an extent of 100 %.

As soft as cashmere, as shining as silk, as natural as cotton, GreenSoft / Lenpur is extracted from the annually renewing raw material soybean. The production process is based upon the use of enzymes without the implication of toxically questionable substances. Moreover, it is environmentally friendly and the use of fossil energy sources is not required. This process offers the possibility to become independent of the ever narrowing raw materials. Unlike cotton, the product may easily be gained from local farming. To an extent of 100 %, it is recyclable and biodegradable.

Wild silk

Wild silk has a low density and therefore little weight. It is resistant against moisture and is highly humidity regulating, as it may absorb humidity of up to 40 % of its own weight. During hot nights and for those who like it cooler, a wild silk mattress quilting offers an ideal solution.
